Mill Bay Shopping Centre
Contains Thrifty Foods (a large grocery store), Pharmasave and many other shops. A ten-minute drive.
Valleyview Centre
Contains Country Grocer, Island Pharmacy, Pizzeria Prima Strada family restaurant, Dragon Yuan Chinese Restaurant and many other shops. A ten-minute drive.
The Old Farm Market
Located about half way between Valleyview Centre and Duncan on the east side of the highway. Good food prices supporting local farms.
Public Transit Bus Service
This bus goes clockwise to Cobble Hill, Valleyview Centre, Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Valleyview Centre, Mill Bay Centre, Mill Bay Ferry, Mill Bay Centre, then Shawnigan Lake Village.
This bus goes counterclockwise to Shawnigan Villiage, Mill Bay Centre, Valleyview Centre, Cowichan Bay, Duncan, Valleyview Centre, Cobble Hill, then Shawnigan Lake Villiage.
Route 44: Victoria/Duncan (Saturday Only)Three trips each way. The only convenient way to take this bus is to first drive a vehicle to a park-and-ride at either Valleyview Centre or Lodgepole at Frayne.
Route 99: Shawnigan Lake Commuter (Monday to Friday only)
This bus goes to Victoria in the early morning and returns after the working day. It only picks up at designated stops. Designated pick up stops are indicated by a small sign, Pick Up Only: Cowichan Valley Commuter, attached to the post at some bus stops.
